9th Ave NW

November 14th, 2009

A few months ago I moved from The 135, the house I lived in for 2 years ever since I moved to Seattle. I loved that house, and more so, the 7 guys who I lived with during those years. If you could bottle up the laughter from that time period, it’d look nothing like a Thomas Kinkade painting. It was incredibly enjoyable living there. Countless hours spent on the porch into the early hours talking about psychology (most of my roommates were therapists or studying to work in the mental health field), theology, and, you know, girls. Psychology, theology, and women: a summary of two years & a porch.

Alas, as much as I loved The 135, it was time to migrate a few miles north. I’m in my last year of graduate school and I felt the need to have a bit more space in my life. I also desperately wanted to have my own darkroom to process and print all my film. So the opportunity arose to move in with my very good friends The Nellis’. Phil and I had quite a few classes together at MHGS before he graduated last year, and the church and community I’m a part of now is due to him.

“Hey man. You should come to Wits End with us on Easter.”

“Cool. What time are you meeting?”

“6:00 am at Matthew’s Beach. It’s a sunrise service.”

“Right. How about the next week? Not 6:00? Cool. See you then.”

So Wits End became my community, and Phil, as it were, has recently become our pastor. Now I live with Phil, Ruth, and their boys.

The Ladies: Brown Nata, Grey Candle, & The Black Sisters (I believe Sylas named them.)

I live in the basement of our house, which has its own entrance, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, bathroom, fireplace, et cetera. It’s wonderful. Sometimes it’s really lonely, but overall I’m pretty happy. The fireplace helps a ton.

On that note, I’m looking for a housemate to share the basement. You should move to Seattle and live with me. No but really. You should. Or maybe you shouldn’t. Whatever. But I do want to/need to live with someone else in the basement. If you were looking for a reason to move to Seattle and try something new, or even relocate in Seattle, please do let me know. I’ll teach you how to make your own photographs and how to make a killer cheese toasty with tomato soup. I can also promise that the boys will probably love you and The Ladies will probably be scared of you.

And now for a self-deprecating joke about the previous sentence regarding me, females, and a beard.

LOL WINK

Interesting…I decided this past week that I’m about ready to make a move, and Seattle is on the top of my list. Probably wont happen until end of January though.

Would potential house mates be judged on their love for Joel McHale?

So you know, I’m much impressed with your marketing skills. This looks like a killer proposal, and neither I or my hubby are even remotely thinking about relocating. So you know, now we’ve discussed it.

Oh man that sounds killer. I would totally be there but it seems The Mitten has me in its grasp for now.

Thanks for lending us Allender on Sunday, by the way; it appears as though I am, indeed, a murderer and a man-ho.
