Weekends
July 17th, 2009Of the many reasons I love Seattle, one near the top of the list is that I can be in the Cascades or the Olympics within an hour or two. Last weekend a few of us went on a day hike in the Cascades. After we got back in the car we all decided to go out again this weekend for a 2 day trip.

In an hour we’re heading back out to the same area and staying ’til Sunday. Here’s to open fires, weekends away, coffee at dawn, waterfalls, anxieties forgotten, dehydrated food from REI, tents, tarps, hammocks, river water, crisp air, sleeping bags, and friends beneath the Washington stars.

Awesome. Wow… it’s been a while since I’ve visited your blog, & this was a refreshing entry to return for. I’m a bit jealous (says the guy who recently went backpacking in the Himalayas for 3 weeks :).

I just got back from a camping as well.
We floated down the Buffalo today.
Good times. It’s amazing how much easier it is to slow down out there.
