i am now using the raindrops picture as a desktop, thank you joshua - it reflects the fact that the UK is still under a lot of water and it hasn’t rained this much in a summer since the records began!
can you really enjoy Born into Brothels. dont get me wrong, it is an excellent film, but enjoyable? Definitly moving.

the other day when running downtown in nashville i noticed a flyer for paper route and stopped to read it. to my delight, they are playing here on Monday. have you had the chance to see them?
Born Into Brothels… WOW!
I’m curious to know hat did you enjoy about that film?
I was deeply moved by that film - it speaks of joy existing in the most dire, darkest places imaginable on earth. The moments of joy in those children… in the midst of all that pain… to be like a child… I’m learning.
@lacey: lucky. wish i could go.
@D Rho: I was moved as well. It was brilliant.
Hey man… I’m finding your work fascinating.
Blessing
Dave

i read your blog often but this is the first time im actually leaving a comment…ya know how you’re always talking about how less is more? well, i have a great story for you. i met a man (Lindon) from Sri Lanka today, he came to my house and was telling stories of Sri Lanka…he said that the army over there has come into his house and held a gun to his head and taken ALL of his belongings on three seperate ocassions! he said that he has learned not to attach himself to his worldy possesions. not being able to wrap my American-ized mind around that, i kinda stupidly asked him, “so, what do you do when the army takes all your stuff?” he said, “all i can do is thank God that it’s gone.”
man, talk about being humbled! as soon as he said that i thought of you and how you are always saying that less is more.
i hope to someday thank God for having no belongings of my own - nothing to geedily call “MINE”. i hope that someday comes sooner than later…
you are loved.

I thought of you today… I was out on a field trip with the kiddies I work with. One of the kids asked me if he could take some pictures with my camera. Having just bought my first DSLR and having paid a decent chunk for it, I was extremely hesitant to hand it over. But I really had to realize that that camera was a precious precious gift from God… He blessed me with the opportunity to capture my little friends on film, and here I was hoarding the amazing gift I’d been given…
So, I handed over the camera to him… and a few other people. It seemed to get easier each time, and I feel blessed by the pictures I now have that my little friends have taken!
Anyway… it was the pictures you have of children playing with your cameras that helped me make the decision to hand it over… so thanks for sharing them.
@kacie: That is a wonderful story. Thank you so much for sharing it. If you see Lindon again any time soon tell him that he is greatly admired.
@tory: yes. excellent. i try to remind myself that everything is on permanent loan.
Hey, I was just wondering, where can I find those wallpapers in a size larg enough to use on my computer? I really like them.
@will: just drag and drop them to your desktop. i uploaded the full files.
